EmbedX - An introductory workshop on Embedded Systems

EmbedX is a 2-day workshop that introduces students to the world of embedded technology using the open-source Arduino platform and Atmega168 microcontroller. The workshop is tailor-made to give participants hands-on experience in working with microcontrollers. The Workshop takes a project oriented approach, where students would be building a complete closed loop control project.
Students get a certificate and a takeaway kit.

What does the Fee Cover?
The fee covers training costs + 1 kit per team. The fee does not include food, accommodation or local transport.

The Arduino Atmega168 Clone board is a USB Arduino Compatible board with Shield compatibility

• Working with Digital I/O
• Overview of Analog I/O’s
• Working with Analog Inputs
• Analog Outputs & PWM
• Communication Interfacing – RS232 interfacing with the serial port
• Working with LCD’s
• Working with Memory

Day2 – Session 1 - Project Building
• Project Overview Discussion & Phase Planning
• Creating a Simple Control for Motor Speed - DC Motor
• Creating a Simple User Interface for the Motor Speed Control
• Adding Feedback based Control for the Motor Speed Control
• Adding a Menu to the User Interface
• Adding User Input to the User Interface for custom Set Points

Day2 – Session 2 - Project Building
• Adding Storage Options to Store Set Point Data
• Creating Visual Indications
• Implementing Fault Tolerance / Prevention

Day2 – Session 3
• Projects Review
• Final Review – Question & Answer Session

Accommodation
Students coming for the workshop from outside Chennai need to make their own accommodation arrangements. The Youth Hostel in Indira Nagar is a good low-budget option.
